HotTopic:Christian Parents & Gay Children

Yes I know, it’s a very controversial topic. I also know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. With that being said, who ever disagrees with me, I just want you to know it’s totally fine.

Even as christians we aren’t perfect. However, we should try our best to live a life pleasing to the Most High and to also raise our children in the right way.

I would think that any good parent would want the best for their child/children but once people know that you’re a believer, most times they look at everything that you do, ready to scrutinize and judge you based on the decisions that you make.

Matthew 7:1-5 “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

Let’s be our brother’s keeper! Instead of bringing down and judging one another, pray for each other!

Homosexuality is wrong in the eyes of God. Now I’m not saying that people who are gay(male or female) are bad people, no I’m not saying that at all. But I am saying God did destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and that was one of the reasons why. At the end of the day, sin is sin. No one sin is greater than the other!

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

Personally, if any of my children were to tell me he/she is gay, I would love them still because I, as their mother, went through the pain to bring them into this world and I carried them inside me for 9 mths and though I don’t condone it, I can’t just turn my back on MY CHILD. I would tell them what the word of God says about homosexuality and pray for them but I would leave it in the hands of the Lord.

So to all the Christian parents who are being looked down at by memebers of your church because your child is gay, ignore them. And to the people doing the judging, you too will have to answer to God for casting judgment and before you look to talk badly about your brother or sister in Christ, please just pray for them and give them a shoulder to lean on!

  1. Truth. I have one child and I would love him regardless. He’s mine. My heartbeat is the first sound he ever heard and nothing will break that bond. I also like to point out that a lot of people doing the judging are also sinning. We are all sinners and saved by the grace of God.

    1. Exactly. Always quick to point out what you are doing wrong but they aren’t studying that they themselves are sinning too.
